Redesigned surveys and search help you stay organized
This update is now live for all Poll Everywhere presenters.
We’re both excited and humbled by the ways presenters have embraced live audience participation.
Seeing the breadth to which certain universities and businesses use Poll Everywhere has inspired us to rethink how hundreds – or thousands – of polls stay organized in your account. These changes help eliminate distraction and improve organization for all presenters. Here are the highlights:
- Surveys and groups are now visually distinct from one another
- Search functionality has been expanded, and now hides unrelated polls
- Copying and moving polls has been streamlined across My Polls
As always, please reach out to us in the comments section below, or via @PollEverywhere on Twitter, and let us know what you want to see added to Poll Everywhere.
Surveys make presenting multiple polls easy
Surveys, the activity that lets you present multiple polls back to back, received some big changes in this update.
The next time you visit My Polls, you will find that surveys now look visually distinct from groups. Surveys resemble poll activities, and their icon is a clipboard. There’s also a small arrow to the right of that clipboard that shows you all the polls contained within that survey.
Groups, on the other hand, are largely unchanged. They’re still used to keep your account organized, and work just like before. If you ever get surveys and groups mixed up, just remember:
>> Surveys are how you present multiple polls back to back, such as a test or quiz.
>> Groups are how you keep polls sorted in your account. Think of them as poll folders.
“A lot of behind-the-scenes work has gone into making multi-poll activities easier for us and for our presenters. The work our team has accomplished should help pave the way for even more multi-poll activities, such as team competitions.”
– Matthew Du Pont, product manager
Surveys are easier to use as well. In just a few clicks you can add new polls to a survey, move polls into or out of a survey, and much more. The entire process has been simplified across the board to make it as easy as possible to get the results you need.
Explore My Polls in seconds with the new search
Need to find one poll out of hundreds across multiple presenters on the same account? This update has you covered.
The search bar at the top of My Polls is more powerful than ever before. It combs over your entire account, including all polls, surveys, groups, additional presenters, and everything in between to find exactly what you’re looking for. And the results are easy to parse. Search only displays polls related to your query. Everything else is temporarily hidden.
Drag and drop, move and copy
The last part of this update is all about creating and moving polls within your account. There are dozens of little changes made to how moving, copying, dragging, and dropping polls works in My Polls. Together, these changes make organizing your account a smooth and simple process. These changes include:
- Drag and drop surveys into groups
- Drag and drop polls straight into a survey
- Duplicate any group or survey with a single click
- Better performance when moving or copying a lot of polls
In addition to everything listed above, the team also added a special feature for those of you with multiple presenters on the same account. Now, when someone moves or copies polls on an account with multiple presenters, a little note will appear indicating the original owner of the affected polls.
That’s all for this update. As a reminder, please let us know what you’d like to see if future updates by leaving a comment in the comments section below. You can also tell us what changes you’d like to see next on Twitter via @PollEverywhere.
Happy polling!
